He’s eight, an artistic prodigy, and quite tall for his age. He spends much of his time drawing pictures and illustrating the people and places in his life. In a way Ray is animating his own life in this series animation. It can be said that, “Juviez,” comes from Ray’s imagination, much like “Winnie the Pooh” is a product of the real Christopher Robin. He’s tall and lean, but doesn’t dream of being a pro ball player like his Dad. He wants to be an artist who paints a better world. He is the center of this universe, the leader, the one that brings all the characters together, like “Charlie Brown” of the peanuts, but much more positive. He’s the one who motivates the rest of the cast to do the right thing. He shows them all that is beautiful and good in their drab, chaotic urban surroundings.

Seven and a Half years old, Alexia is quite the opposite of Meka, which is why they get along so well. She isn’t jealous of what Meka has because she doesn’t need that to be happy. Alexia is earthy, sweet and optimistic. She is a firm believer in girl power and a musical prodigy. She can play anything from ragtime to Beethoven, but is modest about her musical talents. She has a “Why” type personality, always prodding for the reason, the answer, the meaning of everything. She is the one who will stop to smell and appreciate the flowers and she shows the others how too as well.

At seven-years-old JoJo is already a world traveler, the child of military parents. He’s not a prodigy, but works hard at his work, which makes him an exceptional student. He is the Juvie who is always trying to keep the order. He is also very competitive, coaxing the others to challenge with him. He has a crush on Alexia, but is too shy to act on it, and she is oblivious to his affection. He is happy to be a follower and is comfortable in the background of his friends..

A seven-year-old who is a math whiz. Meka is Hispanic and has a slight accent. Her favorite thing is to calculate how much she needs to save to buy the latest whatever. Her parents are professionals who spend more time working than playing, and their work ethic has rubbed off on her. She can’t wait to be the CEO of her own company. She is the pessimist of the bunch. Not as severe as “Angelica” of the Rugrats, but strong willed and defiant. Meka has a domineering personality, yet she is bubbly and energetic. Meka is always testing Ray’s position of power in the crew. If she were more mature and nicer, she could be Ray. What’s frustrating to her is the constant realization that she cannot win over Ray’s spot in the hearts of the others.

A seven-year-old who has a photographic memory. He is a lightening quick reader, who recites word for word any bits of information he absorbs, but he does not always understand what it all means. He often embellishes, by using this information to spin tall tales that make his life seem more exciting. He comes from down south and has a southern drawl. Moving and talking at a slower pace is sometimes an annoyance to some of his friends. Especially Meka, who challenges almost everything he says. But, Ray, his best friend, is always there to protect and support him.

A fifteen-month-old baby, he spends his days at home with Mom. When his big brother is around he’s a tag along. Ray doesn’t mind, he loves his brother, and is proud to help his mother. Best of all though, his baby brother helps him work out his problems. Manny is gifted, but not everyone is convinced, since he only shows his understanding of what’s going on to Ray. The Juviez sometimes think Manny is reacting above his years, but they can’t be sure since Manny easily fluctuates between being a regular drooling, crying baby and being a genius. When he plays with his blocks, he doesn’t just stack them one on top of the other; he builds a castle complete with a mote.
